Long time no type.  I've had to recreate an entire new site to keep up with the times.  The format I was using is no longer supported so here I am muddling through it.  It has begun to be important to my children that we have this family website.  I did not imagine it would ever happen that way but it has.  Courtney came home one day upset that she could not access the site from school and therefore was unable to show the pictures she wanted to and I heard all about how I better get it fixed.  Heh.

The kids are doing well.  Christmas was great.  The kids were pleased with everything and therefore so were Dean and I.  A big thank you to all of the relatives that sent cards, gifts and money for us and the kids.  I horribly did not send out Christmas cards this year.  I made it, had it printed and had Dean go out of his way to pick them up for me and then the flu hit our house like a ton of bricks.  Everything was the bare minimum once that happened.  We survived though and everyone is better now thankfully.

Some highlights...

Reagan is registered for kindergarten starting in September.

Courtney has become a teenager in the body of an 8 year old.

Jordan is addicted to xbox 360 and taller than me now.  At least with the xbox we have some leverage with his homework.

Wow check it out! An update and a whole month hasn't even passed by yet.  ha ha.

I am feeling better than I have in the last 3 years.  It's amazing.  The doctor has put me on a new medication and it is my miracle.  I'm so happy to report that I feel so much better.  It's been a really tough negative road for me and pain is such a tiring ordeal to endure.  I no longer need pain medication and feel great.  Woo Hoo!! Oh and now that I feel better I lost 15 lbs.  Gotta love that.

I am getting back into full time daycare again.  I'm really excited about it too.  Reagan enjoys having kids around and will go to preschool this year but it's such a short amount of time for her.  I also look forward to having some income again.  We have the space, the yard and the playroom and I have the patience so I can't wait to get started.  I always love kids and being around them.  We only get to take care of Miss Madison once a week if we are lucky.  So I'm officially putting my feelers out there for kids who need quality care full time.

Lets talk about Reagan!  Reagan is our creative child who did the most memorable thing any one of my preschoolers has done to date.

Reagan Cut Her Hair!

Oh my gosh did I ever have a tantrum (I do not spank my kids in case you are wondering).  Yes it was not one of my better performances.  I cried.  I admit I am vain about my kids it's not like it's a secret.  In hindsight it is roll on the floor hilarious.  Dean was in shock when I phoned him at work to tell him.  "Get her a hat" he says.  So you are all waiting for yes she has a little girl mullet.  A mullet!  A freakin Mullet!!  Reagan has a mullet.  Can you tell I love it??  Oh yes it's funny and Courtney tells her this morning a week after the incident "You know Reagan you could have just told mommy that you wanted your hair cut." and Reagan says " that's ok Court I just did it myself" as she strokes her too short bangs down her forehead. LOL

She is still one of the cutest little girls in the whole wide world and when I do her hair and put a bow in you cannot even tell.

Ebay is going fabulous and we should be starting to pack to go to the cabin at cultas lake soon.  The kids are very excited.

I hope everyone is having a fantastic summer.

We've been having a great summer.  Keeping busy and happy that the rain is finally gone we hope at least.  Loads of yard work, day trips, and so on and so on.

No more school, no more school!!!  Summer is here for these kids but the sun is a little slow to come out and play.  They are waiting anxiously for it.  They feel a trip to the water slides is in there near future.  Ha ha.

Cheryl and I have booked a beach house at Cultas for a week in August so the kids should have a total blast during that time.  It's a bit of a ways a way but we figure it's a good way to kick off the summer and go back to school.  We have lots of camping trips too in fact a wedding coming up soon and we will be camping for that.  Should be interesting.

Courtney did great on her report card.  All 3's which is basically meeting or exceeding grade level expectations.  A bit of trouble with chatting and finishing what she has going on but the first thing the teacher wrote about Courtney in the golden paragraph was that Courtney has very strong academic skills.  Woooooo Hooooo  I cannot express how wonderful that statement means to me.  She is addicted to reading and cannot put a good book down.  I love it.  Oh do I love it.

This summer Courtney will be spending 1 week at Twisters summer camp.  She'll get to go bowling, hiking, swimming and do gymnastics every day for a week from 9 am till 5 pm.  Then in August she get's to go to another Summer camp called Girl Power.  That's another week of fun.  The girls get to have spa days and do all kinds of girly things together.  She will love that too.  Facials, manicures, and on and on.

Jordan and I are going to sit down this week and figure out what he wants to do.  We have a few options for him to choose from.  We just need to figure out what time he is spending with Dale and when he will be home.  Jordan is excited to have a total break from school and lacrosse so I might just find him a tutoring program for a week or two of the summer to keep up some of the things he's learned.  Jordan did well on his report card too.  He is promoted into grade 7.  We'll go this week and pick up some books to read and offer privileges for reading as rewards.  He really badly wants to be allowed to walk down to the store down the hill here.  That might be a good reward.  I just cannot let the girls go with him.  I couldn't handle worrying about it.  Trips to the water slides are also loads of fun for him and a friend.

Reagan will get to tag along with mommy and go to the water park, Delair park, nature hikes in the backyard, and Daddy is buying a pool for the kids.  That should be loads of fun for them and Daddy really wants to be able to have somewhere to cool off when he gets home from work.  I can just imagine what his floating pool chair will look like LOL.

Here's some pictures I took of Reagan out in the yard today.

If you pass your mouse over the picture boxes you can see the whole picture.  The one below is my favorite.  I can't believe it's only 4 more months until my sweet baby turns 4 yrs old.  She is 3 yrs and 8 months in this picture.

I have neglected to type in this journal for 2 whole months.  We are all under attack of the asthmatic kind.  Coughing, gagging, puking, soak, rinse and repeat.

Reagan had a visit to the doctor on Friday morning which resulted in a blood test for her on Saturday morning.  She is being tested for diabetes because she falls asleep after large amounts of sugar.  She's also been sleeping a ton more than she normally does.  A little worrisome for us but in my heart I really need to believe she's OK while we wait to hear.

Courtney just got the results back from having her kidney and renal ultrasound and she is wonderful.  They tested her urine while we were there and she does have some protein in it but they are going to keep an eye on it.  No abnormalities noted on her ultrasound and we're over the moon to hear that.

Jordan's asthma is so out of control right now and I feel like such a failure that I can't help him get a handle on it.  He seems to have hay fever and we are going in to see the doctor to get a new action plan for him.  He is at the point where he is in need of carrying his puffer with him where ever he goes.  He always has a red sore throat too.  Poor kid.  He's doing really well in public school though.  Lacrosse is also going really well for him.  His team got the gold in 2 tournaments that they participated in this season.  We just need to asthma under control for him.

I'm seeing a rheumatologist in the beginning of August to get a definitive diagnosis and streamline my treatment.  There is a matter of this lovely new allergy to the sun that I have developed.  No freaking fun.  I itch from head to toe for 7-10 days after sun exposure.  I tell ya that's no freaking fun at all.  It is just subsiding now after last Sunday in the sun for the day.  Next up is the pelvic ultrasound and then in August I have the Thyroid ultrasound to figure out what the nodules are on my thyroid.

Dean made an appearance at the doctors office as it seems he had quite a swollen area in his bowel and the doc was quite concerned.  I was impressed that the doctor called here to check on Dean a few times to see how he was doing.  I guess that can be very serious.  It turns out that it was viral and Dean came out of it without having to take anything.  Just a few pain killers and he survived.  I think missing one whole day of work was more painful for him than anything.  He had me a little worried.

April 11, 2007

I have neglected to type in this journal.  Life has been a bit overwhelming lately.  Not terrible just busy.

One huge development is that I've decided to put Jordan back into public school.  It's a tremendous load off of me and he really doesn't want to do the work for me anymore.  It's been a really tough term this past couple of months and I cannot sit on top of him anymore.  Aside from the fact that he's too big.  Jordan is outgrowing me.  His feet are bigger than mine and he is not far off from being taller than me either.  How's that for crazy.  It's funny how  his size makes him really resemble Dean.  He tells people he gets his size from Dean.  He hasn't learned about DNA yet.  It's funny and cute too.

The doctor feels quite strongly that my diagnosis for all of my combined symptoms and blood tests bring us to Lupus.  I am coming to terms with it.  More specialist appointments to come and of course with that come more prescriptions to fill.  My most worrisome symptom right now is the rate at which my hair is falling out.  That is going to really push me over the edge if it all does.  I'm stilling dreaming that this nightmare will disappear and I'll wake up to it being a hoax.  It's been about a year now that the doctor has been mentioning the L (lupus) word at every appointment.  Just this last week was the first time I really went and read what life is like for someone living with it.  I went to www.wehavelupus.com and it really made me feel punched in the stomach.  I just don't want it to be but undeniably I may already be living it.  I do at least know that there was nothing that I did to cause it and nothing I could have done to prevent it.  I do thank god that I have my 3 beautiful kids and am married already.  I am so lucky that I am not forced to go to work every day.  Ugh.  Enough about that.  I get physically ill just thinking about it.

Jordan and Dean are back in the swing of box lacrosse.  It's going well so far.  They each got a pair of nike shox runners and I'm sure they're both eyeballing new lacrosse equipment being the lacrosse geeks that they are.

Courtney is still working on  her twisters classes.  She missed this last one because her throat was really red and she was so tired I figured something was going on with her.  She had a low grade fever at grandma and grandpa's on the weekend.  It's a bit unnerving as it follows a bout last weekend of Courtney peeing alot of blood for an evening and then it was gone.  She is a bit of a mystery to us.  We see the doctor for her on the 12th this week.  Hoping for some answers.

Reagan is wonderful as always.  She was supposed to start twisters class this past friday but it was a holiday so this week will be her first class.  She is very excited.  Reagan continues to shock me with her hilarious humor and stylish clothing choices.  She is one of a kind.  Every time we turn around she has somehow gotten into some make up and plastered it all over her face looking for beauty approval.  Mommy! Daddy! Do I look beautiful or what?  She's too funny.

I've started making bows for the girls hair as I just don't seem to find good quality ones to buy.  Cheryl bought a how to book and I've taken off running with the bow making.  Our girls will always be with gorgeous bows now.  I need to make some for that beautiful little Mary now.  I cannot get over how much she looks like Courtney as a baby.

Well I need to go make invitations for Cori's baby shower.  Oh ya! Cori had a baby girl named Billy Marie.  She is very tiny and cute.  We are having her baby shower here at my house so I need to get my butt in gear and get ready for that.  Then we have Jordan and Courtney's birthday parties to plan too.  Oh my this will be an expensive month.  LOL

The things she says kill me and she's Houdini of the clothing closet.  Dean and I went to the extreme of putting locks on the tops of all of the closets that contain clothing that Reagan may want to play dress up with.  I love that she wants to play dress up but she has outfit after outfit after outfit all over the house and I just cannot keep up.  Then she gets dry clean only clothing filthy and I get soooo behind on laundry.  Sooooo even though there are locks on everything she finds a way.  Always adorable when she does though.  I must say she does have a whole closet full of clean neatly hung dress up clothing in her playroom at her disposal but at 4 am she prefers mommies or her closet.  LOL  Some mornings I wake up to Reagan in the funniest outfits I've ever seen.  I will start taking pictures.  Today in the spirit of allowing her to express herself and the fact that she has bronchitis and a double ear infection I let her come to pick Jordan up from school in her own design.  Inside out skirt (Courtney's skirt, Courtney's top which thankfully matched the skirt and they were both gymboree so that was a bonus LOL when we arrived at the school to go in and get Jordan I noticed that she had 1 of Courtney's boots on and 1 of her's.  Then to top it all off the kid has no tights on and No Underwear!!!!!  Oh the Horror!!  Yep that's Reagan.  We made it through just fine.  Nobody knew but now you do and she will when she is older and reads this.  In her adorable defense she had matching raincoat on to the boots which was adorable too.  As long as I keep the selection adorable she can't go too wrong.  LOL

Here are some of her past fashion statements...

Ahhh what to write what to write...

Sunday's lacrosse game marks a huge milestone in Jordan's world.  He got his first goal in field lacrosse.  Many cheers were had by all.  We have all been waiting for this moment.  Dean, just that same weekend purchased some new cleats for Jordan so Dean came into the house and the first thing he said was "it must be the shoes"  Jordan is very proud.  Yay Jordan!!!!  Your family is very proud of you too.  This week I am registering Jordan in the Kumon learning center.  It is a tutoring center for language arts and math.  He will go twice a week.  This way I can be assured that he will be right up to speed with his grade level for grade seven.

Reagan is as funny as ever.  Loving playgroup and twisters.  She loves anything Courtney does and says so she mimics her every word.  All Courtney's friends are Reagan's bestest friends whether she knows them or not.  Reagan says Mom can I go over to Chili's house and play today.  Ummmm well who's Chili?  You know mom just call her up and see if I can come and play you know.  Gosh she's totally serious when she says these things and will have a tantrum when I don't comply.  LOL  I guess this is all a part of the 3's of a three year old world.  She is growing up so fast.

Courtney is wonderful.  Enjoying school and the new puppy and Kovu.  Courtney is doing so well in school and we are so proud.  She is getting perfect scores on her spelling and math tests and her report cards come home with some of the best grades in the class.  She proudly announced that she has moved on from regular home reading books to chapter books now.  This is a really big deal.  Courtney is in grade 2 and I am so excited for her.  Way to go Courtney Dianne.

Me, I am so looking forward to the spring and flowers and the outdoor activities.  Sending the kids out to the trampoline to burn off some energy will be a nice alternative.  It seems as though it was a long winter this year.

January 23, 2007

Happy new year!  It's been an interesting month with all of this snow.  The kids of course are thoroughly enjoying it.  Actually the dogs are too for some odd reason.  This puppy just can't get enough of it.  Anyhow it seems to be all melted away now and I've had enough of it.  If you've ever seen my drive way you would understand.

Our puppy is growing so fast I think she has tripled in size now.  Kovu adores her and even the cat loves her oddly enough.  It's a regular Martha Stewart episode when they all roll around together.  It's too bad Kovu is terrified of the camera because I could get some amazing pictures.

Courtney is on to her second season at the twisters gym club and she is enjoying it.  She's made 2 new friends in the first class back after the holidays.  The coaches figure that they will move her up to the competitive group next season.  Then she will be really busy with gymnastics.  She is very eager to learn back handsprings and such.  I love her passion for it.  She says she wants to play lacrosse but I think I full body check and she would go flying, cry, and walk off the arena.  She is such a petite child.  If she really wants to I'm sure her daddy will let her play lacrosse for a season though.  Right now Courtney has swollen glands in her neck.  We think maybe she has tonsillitis.  I'm not sure though.  Her throat is really sore and red and she says if feels like there are lumps when she swallows.  She's sleeping lots but no big fever like she usually gets with an infection and there are no white patches on the back of her throat.  So I'm waiting it out and keeping her home from school so hopefully she gets better soon.  I "think" it's a virus but I may take her to the clinic today just to check it out if she gets worse.

Jordan is coming up to the end of field lacrosse season.  It's very long.  We may be going to Victoria again and this time Dean wants us all to go.  It should be fun considering I haven't been to the island since I was Courtney's age.  I don't even remember it.  The kids would probably love it.  They travel really well thank goodness.  What to do about these dogs though.  Fun fun fun.  We may just take the little one and send the big one with my sister.  Kovu thinks my sister is one of his other owners.

Jordan is doing well.  It's still a terrible challenge to get him to do his schoolwork but he is 11 turning 12 so I guess he falls into some kind of normal category somewhere.  He is smart thank goodness so I think eventually everything will click in and he will move forward at a faster pace.  They are talking about a modified program for him for next year.  I think they are right but I'm hoping he can move off of the modified program if he proves otherwise.  We'll see.  Overwhelming him is not the best thing to do.

Reagan is as funny as ever.  She is so sweet and cute.  The playroom downstairs is her favorite place.  She has tea parties with her dolls and loves to play polly pockets.  It's adorable.  I registered her for 10 classes at twisters so we'll see how she likes it.  It's very exciting for her after dropping her sister off there for so long.

Well I should go get my house cleaned up before the kids get up.

December 25, 2006

It's been a wonderful Christmas.  We've enjoyed every minute of it all.  2 Christmas dinners at our house and they both turned out wonderful.  It's always fun reconnecting with loved ones.

We have our beautiful Christmas puppy and she is everything we could have ever hoped she'd be.  It's so wonderful to have new life in the house.  I love it.  Kovu (our other Chow) and Texas (our kitty) have adjusted to her presence with ease.  It's so darn cute and entertaining to spend time with Gracie.  I'm so glad everyone came for Christmas and got to meet her as a puppy.

The kids are all so pleased with all of their gifts.  As are Dean and I.  Thank you to everyone for all of the wonderful things.

I got to snuggle with my newest niece (Mary)  That was a gift in itself.  She reminds me of Courtney as an infant.  Of course Bradley charmed us all with his toddler talk.

The adorable Miss Madison loved the Dora couch I chose for her for Christmas.  Very cute to see her snuggle on it.  Reagan loves her Dora castle which is fun to watch her play pretend.  Jordan and Courtney are enthralled with their kids video cameras.  I can't wait to see what they come up with on them.  Courtney had Grandpa and Uncle Frank all dressed up in costume taking video of them.  It was way too funny and I'll be sending that video to a few people.  LOL  I think we just about peed ourselves laughing at them.  Dean is off work between Christmas and New Years.  Lots of family time to recuperate from celebrating and if you were here for one of the dinners you know that Dean needs to recuperate.  LOL

Now we are looking forward to new years eve.  We're going to celebrate at home with a few friends.  It should be fun and we don't really need to cook anything but snacks.  Works for me.  We had our family pictures done a few weeks ago and some of you got a pic in the mail.  Here are some more of the poses.  I think they turned out quite good.

Have a safe and happy holiday.

December 2, 2006

So much going on and so much to share.  A new baby has joined  the family.  Mary was born on the 17th of November to Uncle James and Aunty Reina and Big Brother Bradley.  She is sweet and little.

I've only seen her once but I hope to see her again soon.

All of the Christmas lights are up and turned on.  They are breathtakingly beautiful.   The girls and Shaina got to model their Christmas outfits last night at the party and all 3 of them were gorgeous and loved by all.  I'll take pictures of the lights and of the kids in there Christmas outfits soon.  Chasing Reagan was my top priority last night.  There were sooooo many beautiful things to see and touch at the Lowe's household.  Very gorgeous.

We leave on the 16th to go to Oregon and pick up our new bundle of joy.  Her name is Gracie and she is our Christmas puppy.  Here is a recent picture of her

I can't wait for Kovu to meet her.  The kids are so excited.  We've been watching her grow since she was a day old.  Courtney has been showing the pictures for sharing at school and the teacher has arranged for us to bring Gracie in for a visit when Courtney starts back to school after Christmas.  Her whole class is now counting the days for Gracie to come.  It's very cute.

Reagan starts Christmas Crickets preschool on Wednesday and can't wait.  She loves that she gets to go and that I leave her there to be a big girl.  She comes home with all sorts of beautiful art projects.  Her last preschool theme was Rainbow Paints.  Imagine Reagan with finger paints.  Apparently it went really well.  LOL  Reagan is really thriving and enjoying preschool.

Courtney got her report card and is doing fabulous.  She could not have better marks.  We are so proud of her and her passion to learn.  She is sitting beside me right now making up a huge to do list for us and is spelling like a pro.

Jordan is doing well with his home schooling.  It's always a challenge but he really is advancing like I hoped he would.  He is studying Thailand right now and learning so much.  I am always learning right along with him.  I really enjoy that most of his work is done on the computer this year and it seems to be working really well for him.  I will need to get him a laptop for grade 7 so he can continue the trend.  Typing seems to work well for Jordan.  We are jumping headfirst into Science this next term and Dean and Jordan did their first experiment together about electric current.  Jordan was so proud that they could make the light work with a battery and copper wire.  We are also doing an incentive program for reading this term.  Now that he is in the habit of reading daily he is starting a testing program called Accelerated Reader and he will be doing a short test on each book he reads.  Each book test earns him points that are recorded.  The better he does on the test and the harder the book level the more points.  For the first 25 points he'll get a gift card to the store of his choice and the second 50 points another and each 50 points he earns there will be a reward.  We are hoping his level will get close to grade 7 so he can keep up with the reading involved with the grade level.  It shouldn't be too difficult.  He really is a very intelligent intelligent boy.  I just need to tap into his passions and draw on that to extend to his reading.

Reagan has been going through a phase of confusion as to whether she is a big girl or wanting to remain a toddler/baby.  I'm just following her lead but it's quite frustrating at times.  She seems to be experimenting with Love and Hate.  We are trying to teach her that hate is not a good word to use and that it's a very strong expression.  I've made sure none of the kids or dog for that matter where ever told that they were bad.  Hate just doesn't fit into the environment of positive parenting.  I must get a book.  I'm sure it's a phase and I vaguely remember it with Courtney at 3 yrs.  Some days I think 3 is a little harder than the terrible twos.  Every year she has is filled with a million times more joy and laughter than challenges though.  She is my Reagan.  Every second with her is a blessing.  I feel that way about all the kids.

We are ready for Christmas.  We have 2 trees up and all decorated.  All shopping is done except I think 3 gifts left to buy for gift exchange name draws.  I've wrapped pretty much everything except a couple of things are still coming in the mail.  This year I decided that December would be spent enjoying Christmas instead of rushing around.  I think the kids will have much more fun this way too.  I know Dean and I will.  We are having 2 turkey dinners at our house so that will be a ton of excitement for us.  Then off to a party for boxing day festivities.

Well now that I've written another novel I'd better go put away laundry.

Happy Holidays

Laurie and the rest of the Litvinsky clan.

Here's a few cute pictures.

3 deer came down to the garage the other day.

October 4, 2006

It's been a while since I've typed here.  We've been very busy and I've been slacking in the journal department as usual.  The kids are wonderful.  We are too.  The townhouse is sold thank goodness.  That has been a real source of financial strain and kept us very busy re cleaning and fixing the mess that our renters left behind.  We won't take that venture again.  We really enjoy our new place and can't wait till our first Christmas here.  The kids are so excited too.

Jordan and Dean are in full swing for field lacrosse and their team is doing great.  Undefeated for their first 3 games.  Dean enjoys coaching with Brad and they have a great team.  Jordan is doing really well with his grade 6 work so far.  Home schooling is a labor of love.  I am happy to do it for Jordan but look forward to shipping him off to grade 7 for public school next year.  He better be ready.  Spelling is a huge issue we will tackle this year.  Everything Jordan does this year is over the internet so it works out great but some days motivating him is a little tough.  He's very smart though and can do all the tasks that are requested of him.  Spelling just seems to be a real issue that gets jumbled up for him.  It really effects everything.  Spell check is a real savior for us.  IF he can get the word remotely correct. HA!!!  That is the key.  I am going to look into sending him to school with a laptop next year.  He was using one before he left grade 4.  However many challenges we have with Jordan's schooling he remains the amazing boy that lights up our lives with his sense of humor and his kind heart.  He is so good.   I hope he skips adolescents.  LOL

Courtney is doing wonderfully in Twisters.  She beams with a smile from the time she arrives there to the time she finishes.  She loves it and her coaches.  It's an amazing place and a positive environment.  I'm so glad she's there.  We look forward to moving up and becoming competitive.  Courtney is well into her year of grade 2.  It is not such a great start of the year for Court.  She was devastated to be separated from all of her friends.  It's been taking a while for her to warm up to her teacher but I hope that she will.  I feel sad for her that she has to experience this so early but she is strong and it happens.  She is however very excited about her teacher on Fridays so that is good but she is pregnant so again not fair. Oh well maybe the next part time teacher will be another favorite.  We hope that this bump in the road ends soon because Courtney cries every morning that she has to go to school.  The adjustment period seems so long but this too shall pass right???  I can definitely do without her throwing her body at my feet screaming I hate school I don't want to go!!!!  I offered to home school her (secretly praying she wouldn't say yes) and she refuses so off to school she goes.  It's tough every morning.  Ugh.  I know it will get better with time.  It has to.

I have been busy with my ebaying and it's been a great time buying new clothing for the girls.  I've gotten rid of tons of stuff too so it all equals out in the end.  Another year of success with that.  I've been having so much fun taking care of Shaina and Madison.  I love taking care of them and knowing their little languages of what they need.  I love babies and taking care of them.

We are getting ready for Reagan's birthday.  After we kick this nasty flu that has exempt us from turkey dinner this thanksgiving.  We postponed Reagan's party 1 week so we'll all recovered.  In keeping with my sweet little jolly jumping maniac we thought it was fitting to get Reagan a trampoline for her 3rd birthday.  She has asked for one so many times and anyone who knew Reagan as a baby knows her passion for jumping.  I think the fun part will be that she won't get to see it until it's present time and then she can go outside and open her gifts on the trampoline.  I just hope the weather is good.  Then all the kids (and adults) can jump on it.  It has a surrounding net for safety so the little ones can bounce around without ever falling off.  Maddy and Bradley should have fun too.  We're hoping they can come.

Well I think I've written a book now and it's taken me 3 days to finish this.  I know I need to take more pics of Jordan.  The girls love the camera and Jordan doesn't.  I think I'll take them in for pics all together next week.

Our amazing time on the farm

July 7, 2006

Happy Summer Holidays!!!!!  We are very much enjoying them already.  Starting the day the kids got out of school we got on the road to Prince George (Hixon actually).  7 hours later our holiday began.  It was a blast and we couldn't have enjoyed it more.  We love it there and the kids are missing it already.  A huge thank you to my Aunty Brenda who took such amazing care of us every minute of our trip.

All of the kids got to horseback ride.

Courtney learned how to drive one of the quads

and

Jordan got to drive around whenever he liked.

Reagan got to go for rides with whoever would take her.  One trip with daddy she fell asleep with a great big helmet on. She's so funny.  Reagan fell in love with Glock (Jamie's dog) all over again and is sure he's "her" puppy.  To the point where she kissed the computer monitor when she saw him today.  He gives new meaning to the breed of pit-bull. He is one of the nicest dogs you'll ever meet.

The kids are wonderful and Dean has quit smoking.  I believe he has had a puff here or there but not purchased a package in a few days.  For Dean that's a miracle.  If he manages to quit I think we'll feel rich with the extra money.  LOL  I hope it works for him.  The benefits are endless.  Not to mention the life factor.  yikes.

We are enjoying our new home and the extra space that we have.  It's incredible and beautiful.  We are forever thankful for this huge blessing.

Did I mention that I am so very happy that it's summer time.  I love the fun stuff that comes with it.  We are going camping next with some great friends.  YAY  I also told Jordan and Courtney each make a list of things they would like to do this summer and hopefully we can do them all.  Within reason of course.

Off to finish painting the kitchen.

Yes we actually gave the 2 and a half year old fire (a sparkler actually)  I'm sure she thought we were crazy too.  LOL  I forgot to mention the spectacular fireworks we had too.  They were awesome.

Reagan is pouring water on her mosquito bites in hopes that the itch goes away.  Poor little munchkin.

It is with great sadness that I write here that Dean's uncle Mel passed away.  Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the family and friends surrounding him in their time of grief.  We are so very sorry.

Also wishing grandma and grandpa to have a safe airplane trip to be with the family.

Check me out.  I'm journaling and it hasn't been a month since the last time.  I must be feeling better. (laugh)  No really I do feel a bit better.  Now is it the tylenol talking or is it really that I feel better I don't know.  I just had a CAT scan on Sunday so we'll see I guess.  Each test carries with it a bit of anxiety but I think it is lessening with the frequency of testing that I get done.  I do however need to force myself to go into the lab today and get blood drawn.  I keep forgetting and I must get that done.  My memory has sadly failed me lately and if you are someone out there that I have forgotten something for or said I would do I am truly sorry.  I sincerely cannot remember phone numbers.  I am hoping this is hormone related as the doctor suspects or a possible side effect from my medication.  However I am sorry if I have forgotten something.  I always wonder to myself "what am I forgetting?"

Sweet little Reagan continues  to be the joy of our lives.  She is a ton of work but so loveable.  I never met a toddler that could be so messy so fast.  She doesn't watch TV all that often unless it's quiet time and that leaves all kinds of adventure time for Reagan.  She is so curious.  Reagan loves lacrosse and all the boys that play it.  She talks non stop about them all.  It's very darling to listen to and she's heartbroken when daddy doesn't take her along to the games.  She calls it "nacross".  Lately it seems Reagan has been playing really hard or getting really clumsy.  She has bruises and scrapes all over her sweet little body.  She looks so battered and she seems to have some mosquito bites again this year that she's allergic to.  We see the doctor today for a well baby check up for her so he can really take a good look at her.  She loves going to see the doctor and getting Dora stickers from him.

Courtney is also doing well.  Dance season is almost finished.  Today is rehearsal day at abbey arts theater.  She has to be there before school even lets out.  I don't understand that one but oh well.  We will go there a bit late I guess.  Maybe I'll ask her teacher if she can be dismissed a bit early if I get a chance.  I don't know??  Courtney's dance show is this week on Wednesday the 14th at 5:30 pm and Thursday the 15th at 5:30 pm.  On the Wednesday she performs her ballet and on the Thursday she performs her song and dance routine.  Tickets are $15.00 at the door if you would like to attend.  It is at the Abbotsford Arts Center located at Abby Senior Secondary School.  Ariel Dance and Acro Academy has amazing dancers and it will be a wonderful show to see.

Jordan is doing wonderful.  He is such a good kid.  I love that we get to spend so much time together.  He gets me and I get him.  It's nice to be that in tune with your kid.  Jordan's new computer program for homeschooling is proving to be a great success.  He is enjoying it and excelling with it.  We have decided that Jordan will go back to public school for grade 7 because that high school experience is once in a lifetime.  By that time he should have had just enough time to get a good grasp on his language arts and sail through the rest of his school years.  I hate that they just let him slip by without really learning the basics.  It really makes me mad and him to now that he realizes what it's done to him.  At least we can fix it and catch up.  Thank goodness for the distance education program.  It has really allowed Jordan to be able to do his schoolwork and still have time to do things he enjoys instead of hours of homework every night.  That was a nightmare for him and us.  He is so motivated with this program and I am so proud of him.  Box lacrosse is almost over and we are ready for a break.  Yard work here we come.  Jordan just wants to work any kind of power tool he says. (laugh)

Well it's time to get Courtney up and off to school.  It's an icky rainy day out there today.  Good thing Dean raced to get all the lawn mowed last night.

later......

Busy busy busy.....  That about sums it up for this family.  We're all well and enjoying life.  My health issues get the best of me some days and not so much others.  I now have a team of doctors trying to figure it all out.  The pulmonologist is figuring out my chronic cough.  The ENT is working on my cough too.  The Endocrinologist is working on the thyroid, headaches and prolactin issues and I feel as though there may be a light at the end of this dark tunnel I'm traveling some days.  We do now know that I have a hiatus hernia in my esophagus which is a large part of my coughing as well as a diagnosis of moderate to severe reflux.  Soooooo that explains why I cough shortly after every time I eat or drink.  I'm not overly excited about more medications but for now I'll do what helps and then I will resume visits with a nature path doctor to figure out which ones are most necessary.  So that spills pretty much all my beans.  On to my children.......

The kids are great.  Courtney's dance recital is coming up on the 15 and 16th of June and then she's done for the year.  If you'd like to come let me know and I'll get you a ticket.  She's performing her ballet and musical theater.  It should be memorable.  Courtney and daddy went on a date tonight to her classroom open house.  It was nice for them to get some one on one time.

Jordan is still going strong with lacrosse.  I haven't gotten to see many games because of chasing Reagan and feeling crappy don't go so well but of course Dean is always there with him.  Jordan just started a new program on the computer with his school and it seems to be a wonderful addition to his curriculum.  We have a tournament this weekend to it will be a busy time keeping up with that.

Reagan is well Reagan.  The counter climbing, cupboard emptying, mess making, mud tracking through the house, adorable toddler.  She rocks our world upside down and inside out.  She is in love with makeup and getting pretty.  Purses and shoes and make up and jewelry.  She melts my heart.  Some days she makes me crazy and keeps me sane all at once.

Most importantly we have a wonderful new addition to our world.  Baby Shaina has arrived.  Aunty Cheryl handled labor like a pro and had that baby a week ago already.  I was honored to witness the event and she's such a special little girl already.  She's extremely beautiful and already surpassed her birth weight.  You can see the adorable babe for yourself at www.babyshaina.com

Here's a sneak preview.  Off to bed for me.

May 9th, 2006

It's almost been a month since I've done this.  It's been so busy.  We are consumed with lacrosse and my doctors appointments.  I did 2 lacrosse web pages for the pee wee teams so that consumes my typing time with my morning coffee.

Happy birthday to my kids.  Jordan is 11 now and Courtney is 7.  We celebrated and opened presents and had fun.  Thank you to everyone for the wonderful gifts.

I am awaiting another CAT scan appointment and am having a barium swallow test done on Monday.  That should be fun.  Not!  I saw the ear nose and throat doctor and he put a camera up my nose "ouch" and sees it necessary to get another cat scan done on my head again.  I had a pulmonary function test come back abnormal that I will find out about on Thursday as well as my blood work that is abnormal too.  How not excited I am about that.  Scared to death actually.  Feeling scared is even worse than feeling sick.  For me anyhow.  Tylenol takes the pain away but not the fear.  OK I'm just a big baby about it all I know.  I just want a normal life to raise my kids in and worry about all this in another 20 years.  Too much to ask?  I hope not.  Ahhhhhhhh

OK the kids are much more fun to talk about.

Reagan is a total hoot.  She brightens every day with her smile and cute little phrases.

Courtney had competition on Sunday morning and they won gold medals and the "You make me feel like dancing award".  Very cool and she is so proud.

Jordan is going strong in lacrosse and enjoying it.  Dean is coaching and proud of his team.  They are really doing great.  Jordan got a gas powered scooter for his birthday and is really enjoying it.  It goes a little fast for my liking but we definitely have the room in the driveway for him to go for a spin on it.  It sounds like a weed eater and goes up to 20 km per hour.

We are enjoying our new home and still have a long way to go before we are settled in as far as painting and yard work go but it's really nice here.  I do wish I was feeling better so I could get more done in a day.  In time I'm sure it will get done.

That's it for now.

Here's a picture of Uncle Steve playing dress up with the girls.

April 14th, 2006

Wow I'm slipping in my entries again.  It's been a crazy month to say the very least.  I'm totally worn out and still so much to do.  We are enjoying our new home and still trying to find the new normal.  The kids have never moved before so they are still adjusting.  Jordan doesn't ever remember moving when he was 2yrs old so for him he doesn't remember anything but the townhouse.  Reagan wants to go home to the townhouse whenever she cries.  It's getting less now but up until last week it was daily.  Poor baby.  She's so sweet.  She told me yesterday that somebody is living in our townhouse now.

Courtney did quite well in competition.  I believe it was the first time for most of the kids so some of them were a little stunned with it all but all in all they did well.  They still have 2 more competitions to go so I'm sure they will do better the next time and then better again the time after that.

Reagan had a short trip to the emergency room the first official night we were finished the townhouse.  At 11:30pm after we just melted into bed we were so very exhausted and Reagan decided to climb out of bed and go watch Dora in her bedroom.  Well after filling all of the holes from every bookcase and dresser being bolted to the wall at the townhouse we hadn't quite gotten there yet at this house.  Low and behold Reagan climbed the dresser and pulled the dresser, tv, vcr, and jewelry box all down on top of her.  Needless to say she screamed pretty hard and there was quite a bit of blood coming from her head.  So a trip to the ER an xray of her head and a bit of super glue to close up the cut on her head and she is fine.  We dodged another one.  She is little miss personality with no fear.

Jordan and Dean have started box lacrosse season.  Dean is the head coach and he seems to have elected me as his manager and what a busy season it will be.  I sure hope there are some seasoned lacrosse moms on our team to help out because I'll need all the help I can get.  There's a tournament this year here in Abby so it will be very busy for us.

This is my new favorite picture of Reagan (2.5 yrs).

Running out of steam.....

I think I'm losing the stamina to continue this adventure.  Ahhh.  Nah I'll make it.  I'm just feeling a bit tired and sick of it.  We are all sick of it.  The only way we've made it this far is thanks to our amazing family and friends.  James and Reina have been so wonderful and I don't know how we are ever going to thank you.  Dean will definitely be helping with some home improvement projects in the very near future.  I think we'll have some yummy bbq's too.  It's been fun to really get a chance to see Bradley in action.  He is the best little nephew in the whole world.  Too cute.

Huge thanks to Brad and Mel for painting for and with us.  It sure makes a huge difference when you know what you are doing.  You guys are great and we owe you big time.

Almost done the townhouse.  I hope it goes by smoothly.  I am a little overwhelmed at the amount I need to get done today but I will be really glad when it's over.  Aunty Paula has been an amazing help with the kids and is coming again today to watch them for me.  I don't know how we'd have gotten anything done if she didn't watch them for me.  Thank you.  Uncle Steve has been very helpful too and Grandma and Grandpa.  Everyone has really pulled together for Dean and I on this adventure.  I can't wait to have everyone over when our current home is done so we can celebrate completion.

Poor Reagan has a double ear infection and a bladder infection.  She is on antibiotics and hopefully on the mend.  The move has been hard on the kids.  I can't wait for normal again.

Oh and I almost forgot.   Courtney has her competition in Mission on Thursday at 3:00pm.  I kind of feel that she isn't ready but you have to start somewhere so here we go.  She is so darn cute in her costume too.  I'll be sure to post pictures.

I had better get ready for the tasks ahead of me today.  Jordan needs an agenda for his schoolwork too.

All Settled In.......

I wish!!!!  I'm a long way from settled in but I think today I'm just plain old worn right out.  I am totally overwhelmed and I wish I could sleep for the next 10 hours.  Not an option though.  Not as long as I need to home school Jordan and keep Courtney and Reagan out of trouble.  The kids seem to be more of a handful than ever today.  I'm pretty sure it's me and my tolerance level but just the same I'm wiped with it all.

I have to call the learning assistance teacher at Jordan's school because they are going to help me set up a support system to keep Jordan on track a little easier.  He is getting resistant to the structure and rebelling at times and I just get so frustrated.  So I hope this avenue makes the difference that we both need.

Reagan is regressing with toilet training and even her vocabulary a bit.  I am noticing some baby talk and a steady stream of accidents in the toilet department.  Ahhhhhhh Calgon take me away!!!!!!

Courtney is fighting with her brother and sister and constantly whining.  This is not the funnest  spring break for her.  There is not much I can do about that but I do have to find her ballet shoes today amongst all of this mess.

Back to reality.

March 19, 2006

Here I sit at 12:03am.  Exhausted with thoughts racing through my head of what needs to be done next.  Oh and my back is so itchy that I think I might just have to hit the utensil drawer and find a creative tool to scratch like heck.

I put the girls to bed at 9:00pm after a fun bath in the new tub and they did have a blast.  We had some fresh cut bread heated with butter for a bedtime snack and we were all asleep within 15 minutes.  I think my body wakes me up so I can reflect and regroup my thoughts without anyone pulling at my leg or calling mommy.

This has been one of the biggest weekends of my life.  Moving without my husband.  I am so glad I have a husband and an amazing one at that.  I sure miss him and will be so happy to see him tomorrow or technically today I guess.  The lacrosse tournament is going well so far I think.  The kids are having a great time other than one incident of running in the hallway at the hotel that I'm aware of.  I'm sure Jordan will have many stories to fill me in with when he returns.

So this has been an extremely eventful few days that Dean has missed.  Starting with our first night slept here.  We woke up the following morning to search for the cat for the next 12 hours and find him under the couch after thinking he was gone forever.  Reagan turned on the burners that are dangerously in her reach and thankfully I was close by the avoid a tragedy.  Stress!!!!  Then the cat seemed unable to pee while squatting repeatedly without any success.  I was terribly stressed about this because of the stones in the urinary tract that cats are so famous for.  After I ripped open and dumped several boxes I found his previous antibiotics and gave him a pill in some wet cat food and he did actually have a small pee in the littler box a few hours later. Then the dog ran away down across this enormous yard and the road and down the road to which my wonderful brother in law found him and herded him home.  Thank you James you rock!!  Reagan caught her finger in the window and now has a cut and blood blister on it in which she was very unhappy about.  Poor baby.  Reagan jumped off of a chair into Courtney and gave poor Court a cut on her arm and a fat lip as Courtney went crashing to the floor this evening.  Did I mention that I miss my husband.

The most amazing part of my day was when Aunty Reina and Uncle James and cute little Bradley showed up and everything was all better.  Thank you thank you thank you.  Then Grandma Thelma and Grandpa Marc joined in and wow.  You were all amazing and I am so very grateful to have you all in our lives.  Dean and I are very lucky to have you.  Thank you.  Your help made a tremendous difference and I just can't thank you all enough.  You are wonderful.

Dean and I have a ton of work ahead but it feels like a mountain was moved today.  It was the worst part over with and I hope everyone's backs are ok.  My sister and brother in law and mom are coming today and I am going to get them to help me unpack and entertain the kids.

I better get back to bed now.  I sure feel better after I type it all out of my head.  Strange but true and therapeutic.

Good night

Laurie

March 14, 2006

Another week has gone by and I'm not so good at updating regularly.  Weekly will do I guess.  Enough for my kids to look back on if they so desire.  We are all doing quite well.  I'm still struggling a bit with my health but nothing I can't handle.  I've started my thyroid meds and I just may be improving.  I've also started a juice called TriVita, Adaptogen Plus.  I hope it's my miracle.  I'll settle for improvement too.  LOL

We are currently packing up all 8 years of our lives in this townhouse.  It's a large job with a ton of sorting to do.  I am sad to leave my neighbors who have all been so wonderful to me over the years.  It's a good thing we are only across the road.  April 1st the townhouse goes up for rent.  We have lots of fixing and touch ups to do in the mean time.  Nothing back breaking but lots of nit picking things.  We really want to make sure we have some good reliable appliances in here for our renters.  So we are hunting for some good used ones to put in here.  I imagine we could probably upgrade them as we go along.  Everyone likes new things so maybe I'll lay off the rush on it.

Jordan and Dean are off to Victoria this weekend for the Provincials.  It's very exciting.  I've been back and forth as to whether I was going to go too with the girls but with moving I just can't imagine spending almost 200.00 for the ferry to stay there one night.  Jordan doesn't seem to mind.  Him and Dean have fun together and it's a nice break for them to  bond away from the girls.  I'm excited for Jordan though.  He will have so much fun.

Courtney is getting ready for competition with her dance class.  They are looking so cute with their Smokey and the bandit routine.  They are competing  4 times so hopefully they do well for their category.  She is enjoying her spring break and looking forward to moving.  Courtney really wanted to go to Victoria but I hope I can make it up to her with some fun things to do here at home.  We will take the kids in the summer when they can play on the beach and we can afford it with a little less stress.  Maybe a camping trip.  Sounds fun too.  She also wants to go to Prince George to see Uncle Larry's horses this summer.

Reagan continues to be as funny as ever.  She talks to everything around her and still refers to herself as Reagan.  She told daddy on the phone the other day that "Mommy took my sister away!!"  I took Courtney to school for the day and Reagan did not think that was a good idea.  Reagan is still naked whenever possible.  It drives me crazy but I hope it will pass soon.  It's not uncommon for her to be walking around the house in her ski jacket and snow boots and her birthday suit.  Not too good for the photo opportunities.  I can't say we've taken too many pictures lately.  Her favorite thing to do now is play barbies, babies, and stack blocks or soup cans.  She's very creative about finding things to stack.  Also there is a new fascination with knives and that she thinks we need knives to open everything.  That one is kind of scary so we've really been working on educating her as to what can happen.  She continues to bring us joy and amaze us every day.  Reagan is such a little doll and so much fun to spend time with.  I truly enjoy this age despite the enormous messes she creates.  LOL

We got new pictures done as you can see.  I have to get them done more often.  I'm hoping at the new house I can set up an area or take the kids outside and get some great shots of them.  I miss taking pictures.  It's been a while since I've turned on my camera.

Off to continue packing.

February 22, 2006

We are all sick, sick, sick, sick, sick.  It is terrible.  I think this is the worst I've ever felt or maybe it's the same as ever but worse because every one of my children is every bit as sick as I am.

The nebulizer is going non stop.  All 3 kids and I use the ventolin via the nebulizer and it takes 15 minutes to do one treatment.  Then after we have all done the ventolin it starts again to do a pulmicort treatment and that takes another 15 minutes.  So with the ventolin done 4 times a day each and the pulmicort twice a day you can imagine we spend allot of time at that machine.

We are all on antibiotics but they don't seem to be doing any healing other than warding off any secondary infections I hope.  This is mid of week 2 for Jordan and I and we still feel just as sick as the beginning.  All of our days and nights are backwards because we are all so sick.  Reagan just lays around, sleeps, whines and lays around some more.  Courtney has never ending fevers that thankfully haven't gone any higher than 102.9 so far but that's high enough that if it keeps up we will be going to the hospital.  Poor kid has the chills and can't even eat.  Jordan is coughing and coughing and coughing some more, his head is pounding and his whole body just aches and aches.  He can barely get up and walk around the house most times.  He hasn't touched his school work for almost 2 weeks and he knows that spring break is going to be spent catching up.  It's terrible.

Me well me I am so very sick I could just cry and cry.  My doctor doesn't see how I can take care of these kids and be able to get better but what choice to I have?  These are my babies.  Of course I wouldn't have it any other way.  I am a little bit stressed about how I would deal with Courtney if she had to go to the hospital.  If they heard me coughing they'd admit me too.  I actually had to go to the hospital the other night to get a shot for this horrific headache I had.  Thankfully it has stayed away for now.  I need this to go away now.  I've had enough coughing to last me a lifetime.  When this is over I'm going to request a referral to an ENT doctor to see if I need my tonsils and adenoids out or maybe I have some weird sinus drainage problem that they can fix.  It's not right that I have to be gagging on my hands and knees until I'm puking and seeing stars on a regular basis.

Dean is starting to feel really sick now too to the point where he doesn't feel he can function properly.

Please pray that this horrid virus goes away and we all get better without any complications.  I seem to be at my wits end and all we can do is just lay together on my bed watching tv and taking turns with the nebulizer.

Thanks for listening if you got this far.  I just felt the need to whine for a while.

Happy healthy positive thoughts and prayers.

Laurie and the sick family.

Ps.  The journal page seems to be broken or something but I am in no shape to figure it out or sit here any longer so I'll leave it broken until I feel better.

Happy Valentines Day!!!!

We are doing well.  Dean didn't manage to quit his nasty smoking habit but I'm sure he'll try again when he's ready.  I on the other hand thought I would try a cigarette while we were out and gosh it tastes gross in the morning.  Once in a while a little reminder of how gross it is.  Yuck  Live and learn.

We went to a fund  raiser for Jordan's lacrosse team and had lots of fun.  It was wonderful for Dean and I to go out together and Dean realized he could have fun without drinking.  It was wonderful and he was such a blast to be around.  Quite a few people came up to me and said that Deans more fun to be around sober than when he's drinking.  I was extremely proud of him and I think he was pretty pleased with himself too.  It was really nice to have a break from the kids thanks to Grandma and Grandpa.  Reagan needed to be with her grandparents.  She really misses them when it's been a few weeks.

Reagan thinks that we are going back to see Santa Clause any day now.  She asks all the time to go see him again.  She has no idea that it's only a Christmas thing.  She's so funny.  Right now Reagan is trying to get anyone to play hide and seek with her.  She loves that game.

Courtney is really looking forward to her Valentines party at school tomorrow.  We are making cupcakes to take along.  It should be fun.

Jordan's lacrosse team is going to the provincials in Victoria.  It should be a fun trip.

I better go make cupcakes instead of typing.

More later........

January 31, 2006

Another month gone by.  We are doing well.  I think.  Dean is trying to quit smoking so he is not so well.  I laugh at him once in a while crazy for some tobacco.  This morning I found him sitting in his truck in the garage smoking a cigarette because he found his last bit of tobacco.  He is going to have a tough time this time.  He really wants to play men's lacrosse this season so he cannot smoke and get into shape to do so much running.  I imagine he would be pretty embarrassed coughing up a lung in the middle of the game.  A healthy change is always a good change.  I do love that he is quitting smoking.  It's such a nasty habit and freaking expensive too.  Not to mention a death wish.

Reagan seems to be struggling with some sort of virus or infection lately.  Her fingers I think are fine as far as feeling any pain goes but she really seems to be getting sick in her chest and sinuses.  I think whatever she has she may need some antibiotics.  We've tried to avoid them as I really want her to be allowed to fight it off without them if possible.  She is developing some little red dots that I'm not sure about and along with the chest cough we are going in for a visit today.  Ahhhh I just had to run upstairs and shower Reagan as she decided instead of coming downstairs when she woke up she would lather her whole body in hair conditioner.  She smells good anyhow.  Little stinker it's 5:30am right now.  The joys of a toddler or is she a preschooler now.  No, I think 2 years is still toddler.  Reagan can now count to 12 I think maybe higher but for sure to 12 consistently.  She knows her ABC's by heart and gets it right pretty much every time.  Thanks goes to the leapfrog learning fridge magnet toys.  I love them.  She especially loves the farm animal one she got for Christmas from great grandpa Harold.  Which reminds me last night Reagan got it in her head that she was going to get into the van and daddy was taking her to see her grandpa Marc.  She threw a fit when daddy said not tonight.  All night she said "I'm going to see my grandpa Marc."

Here's a picture taken by a friend at the lacrosse field on Sunday of Reagan and daddy.  I love it!!

Jordan is doing well.  His buddy Christopher came for a sleepover this weekend and got to come see Jordan play a lacrosse game.  Jordan's still putting some extra practice into his stick skills and Dean says he is improving.  Jordan's last two games have been local so the boys have been able to go skating after while the parents watch the next couple of games after them and Jordan seems to enjoy that.  Home schooling is moving along.  It's slow going but I am pretty sure we may decided to continue for one more year.  I really don't think Jordan is ready but we'll see.  If I could afford a tutor I would put him in public school and have him tutored every day for an hour but I just can't.  So we may continue.  He really needs to be ready and get all caught up.  The stuff we're doing just takes so darn long for him to get through and that's with me by his side every step of the way.  He has to be able to have time to play in the afternoons when the other kids are out.  I just won't take that right away from him.  Last year he just didn't do his homework on the nights he had lacrosse because I just couldn't do that to him.  A kid can only take so much and all last year he begged to stay home every day.  Every single morning he would tell me he was sick.  He could even make himself cry till he puked.  It was awful and the more I think back the more I realize that this year has been a breeze.

Courtney seems to have whatever Reagan is fighting.  Yesterday after school she was screaming with sudden headaches.  It would seem to go away and then she would be frantic again and she wouldn't be able to have any more Tylenol yet.  Not sure what that's about but I think I am going to keep her home today to rest.  She went to bed at 8:00pm last night and I'll see how she is when she gets up this morning.  Maybe the doctor can look at her today too.  Courtney has been such a little brat lately.  Her smart little mouth keeps getting her into trouble and I swear she seems to have a meltdown every 2 hours or so.  It usually means she's sick or maybe she's just making us crazy.  Her classroom had a substitute while her teacher was really sick and that was tough for Courtney.  She was not happy about that at all.  Routine is very important to Courtney and so is her love for her teacher.

Well it's time to start the laundry and get Jordan's lessons for today set up.  Did I mention that the stupid cat has taken to peeing on the dryer.  Yep yellow puddle almost every morning.  Anyone want a cat???  My husband loves that cat so I think he should clean up the puddles.  I'm soooo sick of pets.  I love having them but soooooo sick of cleaning up after them.  Which reminds me to clean the backyard today so Reagan can play on her slide.

Have a wonderful day.

January 25, 2006

Wow it seems strange that it's actually the year 2006.  1999 seems like it was just last year to me.  Time flies and life keeps rolling.

OK I lied before.  The test results came back from Reagan's finger x-rays and they are broken.  The tech that did the x-rays figured they were fine when he glanced at them.  There isn't anything that we can or need to do for them other than pain management but they are indeed broken at the tips.  You wouldn't know from looking at them really but the x-rays tell another story.  Poor kid.  She seems fine though.  Just a little crankier than normal.  Her tummy is still bothering her but not too much.

Courtney is doing well and I really enjoy going to help out in her classroom.  I've been invited to come in and help quite a bit lately and it's been fun.  Last year I was so consumed with Reagan and colitis that I didn't participate.  I'm glad this year that I have.

Jordan is doing well in all areas.  We are encouraging him to spend a bit more time with his lacrosse stick to improve his stick handling.  He agrees and seems to be doing it.  I have anxiety about Jordan going to middle school next year.  I really believe that he should home school for one more year but at the same time he would like to try it out.  Truthfully I think he just wants the locker and a fun place to lock up his stuff.  He is excited about that part.  I have a strong feeling he might change his mind after school starts and want to home school again.  I can switch him back if I choose to but I won't tell him that and cross that decision if it presents itself then.  I do every subject right there with him and I help intensively with the reading so he comprehends everything at all times.  It will surly be different for him when he does go back.  I just really want him to be confident.  That is the most important thing to me.  If he feels good and enjoys it he will do well.  He is a really good kid.  Oh and they tied their lacrosse game on Sunday which is awesome because the team was brought down from a higher level.  They were a little worried at first but remain undefeated to date.  YAY.

Well I'm off to relax before this kids need to be tucked into bed.  Courtney and Reagan are running in circles down here with frequent stomping up the stairs to squeal and be tickled by Jordan.  Just another night in to Litvinsky household.

Reagan's fingers are doing much better.  Thank you for all the well wishes and concern.  She is very playing and using them just fine.  If you ask her hw they are she will tell you "they're all broken"  she's so cute.   They are not broken.  Just traumatized from going completely flat.  There is no give or flexibility between the door frame and the door so they had no choice but to transform.  They did look gross though.  It's icky to just think about.  I am very thankful that she still has those gorgeous little fingers.  Now she just has to get rid of her tummy troubles.  She has gone from constipation to diarrhea yesterday.  The poor kid seems to have a virus now and along with a runny nose, explosive diarrhea she is not feeling to hot every now and then.  She seems to play for a bit and then rest for a bit.  Hopefully tomorrow she is feeling better or she will miss playgroup.

Courtney is doing wonderfully.  She is very interested in scrap booking and having so much fun with all of my tools for it.  She received a small scrapbook from a birthday party treat last weekend and is busy filling it with decorated pages.  She is doing a really great job with it too.  Courtney is working hard on her new dance routine getting ready for competition in May.  They have 3 competitions that they are entered in.  I hope they do really well.  It's the first year for their dance studio to have junior musical theater.  I've heard that the costumes are jean skirts and cowboy hats for the girls.  They're going to be adorable and Courtney is on top of the world about it.  Loads of fun.  I love being her mom.

Jordan is at his Lacrosse game right now.  They are playing one of the harder teams so me and the girls are at home with fingers crossed that they win.  So far they are undefeated.  Hoping to go to the provincials this year on the island.  Dean got his coaching certification last weekend for field lacrosse.  Now he needs to go and get it for box lacrosse.  He's hoping to coach Box Lacrosse this year.

I am looking forward to spring.  I can't wait to hang out in the backyard again and get these kids outside every day.  It's only January so I guess I have a long wait.  Oh well.  Maybe I should start scrap booking too.  I actually have material to start quilting my blanket for my room so maybe I'll start sewing.  I still need to get my butt in gear and start ebaying.  I really feel the need to bring in some sort of income.

Jordan's lacrosse team is doing a fundraiser and raffling off a custom made locker.  Here is a pic of it for all you friends and family who would like to purchase tickets.  They are $5.00 each or 3 for $10.00.  Just call Dean or email litvinskyfamily@telus.net and let him know you want tickets and he can arrange to get them to you.

The raffle is to be held February 11th 2006 at Dukes Pub.  Winners do not need to be present to win.

Anyhow I must get back to the housework.  It's desperate housewives/grey's anatomy night so I must get the house clean so I can sit on my but and watch.  LOL

Have a great day.

Thursday  January  19th,  2006

Well it's been a few weeks since I've done this but I should sit here and write.  Things have been going well.  Just the regular routine.  Except my Colitis is awful and I hate it.  I wouldn't wish it on anyone.  I do have some wonderful news though.  I saw the neurologist and through her examination she determined that my brain is fine and she thinks that my legs are going totally numb when I sit down because I am probably putting excess pressure on my sciatic nerve.  I was so freaked about having MS that I couldn't even say it out loud.  She had a really long look into my eyes and apparently that can determine allot.  She really put my mind at ease.  I do however suffer from migraine headaches and she said they can progress as you get older and after each pregnancy it's common for them to get worse for some people.  She also told me that pain can cause you to be confused and forget things.  I also have to see an endocrinologist hopefully after I get this next batch of tests back.  We are testing my breast milk to see if that's in deed what it really is.  Hormones are a crazy thing and sure do control all aspects of the body.  Not fun at all.  They account for the dizziness, confusion, some of my headaches, weight gain, acne, dry skin, extreme fatigue and on and on.

On to Reagan........  Poor Reagan has been having some tummy troubles and blood in her bowel movements.  Poor little girl.  We are awaiting her next bowel movement so we can send in a sample for testing and have a urinalysis done because she says her pee is hot.  Something's not quite right but hopefully it's just a minor correctable issue.  She cries that her tummy hurts so hopefully she will poop soon.  The next step may be allergy testing to see if there may be a milk allergy like her daddy had when he was younger.

Courtney is well.  She has a bit of a sinus infection maybe but she is star of the week in her classroom this week so she isn't going to let a cold slow her down.  She took tons of pictures of herself and her family to school to share and tell about her life.  She is so proud.  Every day she gets to take one of her favorite things to class to share and tell about.  Today she took the scarf she made with her knitting machine that she got for Christmas from Grandma Thelma and Grandpa Marc.

Jordan is doing well too.  He is getting ready for a play in which he has an acting part.  The play is Oliver and I think Jordan's character's name is Johnny.  He has quite a few lines to learn which reminds me that we should get moving on that today.  His creative arts program is amazing and we are so lucky to have such a great program available to us.  Jordan's reading is really improving too.  Thanks to a great book from Grandma Thelma he's been reading a chapter a night with ease.  Yay I am so relieved about that.

I hope the rain lets up soon.  It's got to be hard on Dean and all the construction workers out there to get wet all day every day.  I hope the sun shines through soon.

I think today's the day I return to listing on ebay.  I need to get my ebay store up and running again.  I have so much to sell and we really need the extra money.  Not to mention I really miss being able to shop for fun.

Home schooling is whispering my name.  I better get Jordan started for the day.

Have a great day.

Laurie

OH MY GOSH!!!!!

After I typed all of this and picked up Courtney from Dance class we came home.  Jayda came over to play for a bit and the girls were trying to lock Reagan out of Jordan's room.  Poor Reagan got her fingers squished in the hinge side of the bedroom door for about a whole minute.  As soon as I heard the shrieking cry I ran upstairs and had to push the door open because Courtney was on the other side holding it shut.  My poor sweet Reagan had such mangled looking fingers that I wasn't sure if they were going to be OK.  We rushed to see Dr. Wiebe and he said  we need to watch the color of them because he's concerned that she may have popped the bones.  Oh my this can't be.  My poor sweet Reagan.  She screamed so long and hard that her eyes were totally bloodshot and she fell asleep right there waiting for the doctor.  We go tomorrow to get x-rays to see if she ruptured the bones at the tips.  I am praying all night long that this is not the case.  Dr. Wiebe said there is nothing that we can really do for broken fingers when they are still straight.  I've never seen fingers look so mangled and in no time they got their shape back.  It was amazing.  I'm just so thankful that they weren't cut off.  3 whole fingers where completely stuck in the door.  Needless to say Courtney feels awful and won't be slamming any doors on Reagan anymore.

I'm going to go to bed with my baby now and hug her all night.  In 4 hours I need to creatively figure out how to get her to take more Tylenol and Motrin.  Poor sweet Reagan is in so much pain.

Anyhow that's my adrenaline pumping horror of a night.

Laurie - I keep thinking to myself that I should have gotten there sooner.  They have to be alright they just have to.

Happy New Year!!!!!!!

Christmas night we had a wonderful dinner at Aunty Paula's and Uncle Steve's with lots of our family that we don't see often.  The kids were great and loved all of there wonderful gifts.  Thank you to everyone and thank you to Aunty Paula for cooking such a wonderful dinner especially when she is so busy with new baby Madison.  Madison is growing like a cute little weed and starting to interact with her surroundings.

Boxing day we were off to Grandma and Grandpas for another wonderful Christmas day.  It was amazing as always and we were all showered with wonderful gifts that we love and appreciate.  Amazing little Bradley is not so little anymore and we love his adorable sweet personality.  Reagan is in love with him and I can't wait until they exchange their first words with each other.  I think they will grow up to be wonderful friends.  Right now Reagan is very much a 2 year old and is sure that everything is hers.  Fortunately sharing is a concept that will come naturally when she has a brother and a sister to share with her.

The day after boxing day Jordan and Dean were off to a bottle drive for Lacrosse.  They all did a great job and I do believe the total raised was in the ball park of  $500.00.  Way to go Abby Attack Novice Lacrosse team.  Dean said they had a great turn out.

New years eve was a quiet one as far as activities go.  We stayed home and Aunty Paula and Uncle Steve brought Madison over to ring in the new year with us.  Jordan and Courtney had 3 friends come to spend the night.  Needless to say it was not quiet as far as noise levels go.  Wow 6 kids are extremely loud.  Every time I turned around they were on their way back down the stairs to reload on sugar.  Yikes!!!! They were up until 2 am I think.  I'm sure that this is the beginning of many years with many kids gathering to party.  I want my kids at home where I can see them when they're older.  They had lots of fun and things went smoothly with no tears.  Yay.

Happy New Year!!  I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season.

Laurie and family.

Christmas Day

We had a wonderful Christmas as we always do.  There is so much to be thankful for.  Our family is complete and our children are healthy.  What a blessing.

The kids were so excited on Christmas Eve.  We stayed home without having any visitors this year.  It was nice and we all sat down after dinner and watched a movie.  "Lemony Snickets Series of Unfortunate Events" I have no idea if I spelled that correctly but you get the idea.  I got the kids the Xbox game from the movie so I thought it would be fitting for them to have just recently watched it.  It worked out well and we all enjoyed it.  We had a nice peaceful night and got a bit of cleaning done so we could wake up to a nice clean home.  I love that feeling the best.  Aunty Tracy called us and brought over some fresh baked cookies for Santa.  Thank goodness for my amazing neighbors that think of all of the things I forget.  So Courtney carefully put out the cookies for Santa with a glass of milk before heading off to bed.  The cookies were delicious too.

We decided to wake the kids up at 7:00am and they were down those stairs as fast as they could go.

Reagan found her new rocking chair and that was it.  I think she sat in it while she opened everything.  It was cute.  Jordan was very happy to see his quad in the garage and Courtney was ecstatic about everything.

And that completes the Christmas morning festivities.  We then got ready and off to Aunty Paula and Uncle Steve's for a delicious turkey dinner.

December 22,  2005

The end of another year is upon us.  Time sure goes by fast as I get older.  It's been an interesting year.  As I read back in my journal I recall so many things that I otherwise would not remember.  I regret not doing it earlier in the kids lives.  I do have a ton of pictures though.  One day I'll sit down and scrapbook with them.

We are officially ready for Christmas I think.  I just know I'm going to remember something at the last minute but I just hope it's while the stores are still open.  (laugh)  All of our online ordered gifts have arrived.  One came in the wrong color but I hope we can fix that after Christmas.  Dean has Jordan's quad all ready to go other than the black flame decals have not arrived yet.  That's ok though because it could be fun for Jordan to help apply them after Christmas.  It was Jordan's helmet that came in white instead of black.  Dean really wants it to match Jordan's new riding boots so back it will go.   We are so very excited to see Jordan's face when he sees it all.  It will be one of the most exciting Christmas's ever for him.  He has an idea about the quad but I don't think  he expects the gear to go with it.  Thank goodness for ebay and the excellent prices.

Reagan's talking has progressed to that of an older child now.  Except she has picked up a curse word from daddy that is quite horrifying to us.  We are hoping she forgets it soon.  It's quite startling when she does it.  I think she may be feeling a bit under the weather.  She's been sleeping allot.  Yesterday she slept the whole night and then most of the day.  She should be raring to go today.  I hope she is not getting sick just in time for Christmas.  That would be kind of a bummer.

Courtney is counting down the days to Christmas Eve.  10 times a day she checks how many more days until.  She is having so much fun wrapping gifts this year.  Courtney's best friend Jayda and her do a gift exchange that was started last year and this hear I picked up the most adorable Bratz palm pilot type of text messaging device that they can actually send messages to each other.  I can't wait for them to see them.  They will have so much fun.

Anyhow I am off to drink my coffee and get back on that laundry train.  It never stops moving. (laugh)

Have a wonderful day.

December 20th, 2005

Wow tonight Reagan is running around here like a ball of fire.  Courtney is the most curious little girl in the whole world.  Jordan is still at his dad's until Thursday so the lack of fighting with one less child has been a tad peaceful.  We wrapped and wrapped and wrapped presents tonight.  Still loads more to wrap.  I bought these adorable boxes that  I thought would be great for wrapping clothing and stuff.  Well let me tell you about dollar store quality.  Not worth it.  I'll use them up but never again.  Oh well.

The little ball of fire just bit me.  What a little stinker.  She actually broke the skin right through my housecoat.  Did that ever hurt.  Did I mention that Reagan is naked all the time now. ahhhhhhh  I don't know why she has so much energy right now but it's gotta end soon.

Courtney and I sorted through the toys yet again this month and we hopefully have trimmed them down enough to fit in some new ones.  How many barbies and ponies can one child own.  Too many for this little girl.

Well House is on tonight the kids and I are going to go curl up in be
