Happy belated Valentines day.

We have had one heck of a February so far.  Courtney spiked a fever in the middle of the night on a Monday night and spent most of the week in the pediatric ward in the hospital.  Courtney learned the value of an inter venous for fluids and antibiotics.  She had pneumonia and prior to the fever and body ache she never coughed.  Our family doctor sent her straight over the the pediatricians office because her color of her skin was horrible and her limbs were cold with a fever in her mid section of her body.  Her tummy hurt so bad she was screaming if anyone touched it.  The pediatrician saw her and sent her to the hospital for fluid IV and antibiotics to be safe because of her previous blood infection when she was 3 years old.  It turned out that she went downhill and got much sicker over that evening and next day with a fever over 104 that they could not get down without the use of ice cold towels.  It came down a degree and hung on for 6 more hours until the middle of the night she was full of sweat.  We thought the fever was over.  The fevers came and went for a couple more days but responded to tylenol and as of today she is finished her antibiotics.  Still taking her inhalers and going back to school after 2 weeks away but thankfully she is fine.  A bit of a junky sounding cough but the doctor said the gurgling sound in her lungs seems to be gone. Courtney continues to be the child that scares us when she gets a fever and will always.  There is never a time that we took her in that it was no big deal.  When she gets sick she makes it serious and thankfully not often.  Here's hoping for never again.

A huge thank you to all the moms who had to find alternate daycare because I was stuck in the hospital.  Thank you to Grandma Thelma for taking Reagan.  She had so much fun and is still talking about her special time with Grandma.  Thank you to Aunty Cheryl for bringing me lunch and leaving me her cell phone.  Thank you to Aunty Reina for bringing us a DVD player for Courtney to pass the time with great movies she hadn't even seen yet.  Courtney was also so happy to see her friend Jayda who brought her a magazine and a teddy bear. It was so helpful to have that support when your life is turned upside down temporarily.  My heart just breaks for all of the parents out there who have to do it indefinitely.

Lacrosse field today.  Jordan won't be playing though because he was out of school with strep throat on antibiotics for a week.  Fun times.  He can dress and support his team mates though.  He's all better.

I am sooooo happy to send my children back to school on Monday.  It's been a crazy few weeks around here.  I hope the sickness is gone for good.

Daisy Dreams and Doodlebugs is my online children's resell (consignment) boutique where I recycle the clothing of my kids and anyone with brand name used clothing who I either purchase it from or pass along a percentage to.  It will be up and operational the month of February.
